The much anticipated IronMan Lanzarote 2012 was, in our view, a really enjoyable day.

During the week beforehand, we had a steady stream of competitors visiting our bike clinic which gave us a fantastic opportunity to talk to dozens of athletes, as well as get their bikes in tip-top condition ahead of the big day.

Its that time again…

Like last year, we will be running our bike surgery, taking care of those little adjustments and last minute crises to help competitors get the best from their bikes. We offer unlimited use of tools, equipment and expertise during the days leading up to the event for a one-off payment of just €10.

We are located just around the corner from the transition zone – very handy in all senses of the word!

We are stocked up with CO2 cartridges, tubes and other essentials at very competitive pricing – pop in and have a browse!

Last but not least… Best of luck to the guys who have hired our bikes in this year’s event :o)

More fun for less money

Visitors to Lanzarote will now be offered the chance to obtain a Green Banana discount card for numerous discounts whilst on holiday. We are one of the businesses offering discounts in Puerto del Carmen, on our Carmen Carriages and Wayroller e-scooters. Massive savings can be made on food and drink and excursions as well. We had one group come back three times to take out our scooters, enjoying 10% off each time.

Booking your bike online

As more and more people are using the internet to plan their busy lives, and more importantly, their leisure time, it is good to know it is possible to book bicycle hire online. We are able to take online bookings via our website  from people wanting to ensure they can have the bikes of their choice on the days convenient for them – great for families and large groups wanting to ensure the right bike is available for everyone.

Revolution makes online booking easy. Simply click on our enquiry form and give details of what you want and when you want it, and we will respond, in person, with confirmation of your booking and answers to any additional questions you may have.

We don’t charge a booking fee and there is no need to pay any money in advance. We will e-mail you with details of deposit and payment due, and this becomes payable when you pick up the bikes.

If you’re based out of the main resorts and would prefer to have your bike(s) delivered to you, this can be arranged at no extra cost to you at a mutually convenient time. We will bring all necessary extras you ask for and the tools to ensure the bike is adjusted and fitted for you.

Now, as October draws to a close the clocks go back, the nights draw in and it starts to feel like winter – brrrr.

Fortunately, here in Lanzarote, the climate is kind enough to be truly described as an all-year-round destination. Today, for instance, it is 28c with a few clouds drifting by on a gentle north-easterly breeze.

Many visitors to the island over the coming weeks will either be seeking winter sun and relaxation, or looking for the opportunity to take advantage of the fantastic climate to continue their sports training, whether professionally or just for fun. Many try to emulate the ironmen by cycling parts or all the Ironman course through Yaiza, towards El Golfo, past the fire mountains, up to Famara and Teguise, reaching the peak at Los Nieves and returning through Arrieta and Tahiche.  It certainly beats dark mornings in the gym.

As always, cycling, whether road racing or mountain biking,

is as much a joy now as it is at any time of the year.

Ocean Lava – The Lanzarote Triathlon

Here at Revolution Bikes, we are looking forward to the Ocean Lava Triathlon taking place on the 8th of October. Our shop is uniquely situated right by the start/finish line and transition zone and we’ll be available to help competitors with fine tuning and supplies ahead of the big day.

As always, our great selection of bikes will be ready for competitors, supporters and families to join in the fun and experience cycling in Lanzarote’s wonderful landscape for themselves.

Allez! Our fleet of bikes is growing

Fantastic news from Revolution – Our superb Allez sport triple race bikes are here and catching the eyes of our customers already. These 2011 race bikes from Specialized feature enhanced aluminium frames and FACT carbon forks, so light,  agile and perfectly suited to the unique demands of Lanzarote. Truly top-notch equipment for the discerning roady.

We’ve kitted them out with bottle cages, saddle bags, 8 function computers and a tour pack containing a spare tube, CO2 canister and tyre lever. A great value for money package that we believe cannot be beaten!

The Ocean Lava Triathlon will be coming to Puerto del Carmen in October, and these bikes will give those training for the event everything they need to get used to the course and the conditions – all backed by our unrivalled service and support.
